Madonna reportedly baffled fellow diners when she arrived at an up-market restaurant with her own wine and glasses.

The superstar and her beau Brahim Zaibat went to the Osteria Cotta restaurant in New York City on Saturday night to enjoy a romantic dinner.

However, the pair caused a stir when they pulled out their own alcohol and drinking vessels.

'[Madonna] brought her own red wine in a bag, along with two beautiful crystal glasses. They poured the wine and immediately put the bottle back in the bag, so nobody could see what it was,' an onlooker told the New York Post. 'At the end, they took the empty wine bottle and the glasses with them. We couldn't figure out if Madonna prefers specific wine, or is a total germaphobe.'

Brahim picked up the bill at the end of their meal, according to onlookers. He was also told to 'tip well' by Madonna.

The pair enjoyed a varied meal together after arriving at around 10.30 pm. They ordered 'arugula salad, pizza margherita, bruschetta and a side of roasted cauliflower.'

Madonna and her toy boy lover looked really into each other after enjoying their food at the eatery.

'They left with their arms around each other, hip to hip,' a source added.

Madonna's representative didn't respond to reports that she'd brought her own alcohol to the restaurant.
