Rihanna is reportedly considering entering rehab for "love addiction".
The 25-year-old's split from singer Chris Brown became public last month, after he claimed he is too young to be "wife-ing" the Barbadian star during a radio interview.
Last week pictures emerged showing Chris snuggling up to his ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran.
The images have reportedly made Rihanna consider seeking professional help for her heartbreak.
"Rihanna is still desperately in love with Chris," a friend revealed to UK magazine Grazia. "It's like she's obsessed with him and, although he's told her it's over, she just can't get over him. After talking it through with her friends and a psychotherapist, Rihanna is now considering a 12-step programme to get rid of her demons. [She's been researching rehab facilities specialising in] love addiction."
The popstar is said to be considering entering therapy when her tour breaks for six weeks at the end of July.
Rihanna hopes she'll be able to complete a course to help her get over her relationship issues during this time.
"Rihanna wants to finally close the door on everything with Chris and feel free to be herself again," the source continued.
The couple have had a notoriously rocky relationship. Chris was convicted of assaulting Rihanna in 2009, which caused them to split after three years of dating. The pair reportedly reconciled last year but have made it clear in recent weeks they've grown apart.
Friends hope Rihanna will be able to get over Chris once and for all.
"Rihanna knows she's got to do something to move on and everyone hopes it will be the opportunity she needs to address her issues and find the happiness she deserves," the friend explained. "This is a turning point."
