Jennifer Lopez reportedly apologised to P. Diddy for not replying to his phone calls when they met over the weekend.

The former flames bumped into each other at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Jennifer, 42, was with her new boyfriend Casper Smart, 24, who she has been dating following her split from estranged husband Marc Anthony.

Jennifer and P. Diddy were 'friendly' with each other, a source told Us Weekly.

She was apparently overheard apologising to the I'll Be Missing You singer for not returning his calls and text messages.

'It was weird,' the bystander noted.

Jennifer went on to date actor Ben Affleck after she broke up with the hip-hop star but told Entertainment Weekly back in 2003 that 'it was the first time I was with someone who wasn't faithful'.

Diddy's documentary Undefeated, which he was executive producer on, won an Academy Award on Sunday and he says he is delighted by the win.

'I'm just going to enjoy it,' he told the New York Post. 'I am really happy.'
