Rihanna loved not having to 'think about what to wear' on the set of her new movie.
The Bajan songstress is starring in action sci-fi film Battleship alongside Liam Neeson and Alexander Skarsgard.
Rihanna plays Petty Officer Raikes who is a weapons specialist. The star loved roughing up her appearance for the movie.
"I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really did. It felt good to not have to think about what to wear,' she told British newspaper The Sun.
'Every day was the exact same thing. It was really comfortable."
Rihanna loved handling the weapons on set. The 24-year-old star found working with the guns a thrilling experience.
"The one on the boat was so powerful, on the ribs, every time, ugh, I remember. I would come back to the set with black gunpowder everywhere - it was crazy,' she recalled.
'But it was so much fun. I loved it, every moment. I loved feeling it in my chest."
Rihanna joined the army cadets as a youngster in Barbados. However, the sultry star has joked her intentions were innocent at the time.
"I just wanted to join an organisation. I didn''t want to be at school for school work, that was boring. Everything else was kind of not my thing, so I joined the cadets. They had weapons,' she said.
'I wasn''t into boys then."
Rihanna insists she won't be leaving the music industry in favour of making films. However, the star wouldn't rule out venturing into other film genres in the future.
'I want to do comedy, maybe a romantic comedy,' she explained.
"I want to try being more vulnerable, but I want to try different things. I don''t want to stick to one type of role."
