Jennifer Lopez 'can't have meaningful relationship'

Jennifer Lopez's manager Benny Medina has given an insight into the singer's quest for love.
Jennifer Lopez's manager Benny Medina has given an insight into the singer's quest for love.

The American Idol judge is currently embroiled in a passionate affair with her toyboy lover Casper Smart, 24.

But Benny tells the April issue of Vogue that he wishes the 42-year-old mother-of-two would slow down and be more careful with her choice of men.

'The thing that I always sort of wished is that she would give herself time to just naturally meet someone, instead of having obsessive guys pursue her,' Benny said about Jennifer's history of jumping from one relationship to another.

'The ease with which that obsession becomes a relationship I think sometimes works against her ability to have a real meaningful relationship.

'And she never half does anything. When she commits to anything in her work, her life, or her relationships, she is in it.'

Benny, who has been Jennifer's manager and business partner for years, is also godfather to her four-year-old twins Max and Emme.

He recalled a conversation he had with the Jenny From The Block singer recently and says she's aware of what she has gotten herself into.

'She's not oblivious to her own reality right now, as in, 'Damn, I'm 42 with a 24-year-old. Why?' We talked about it yesterday,' he divulged.

'She was just like, 'It's not even the age, Benny. It's actually that I just came out of a relationship where I felt like I was kind of not getting what I needed. And I'm open! So somebody who steps in right now and is actually touching me in a way ' it's very fertile ground!'

Jennifer is now going through the breakup of her third marriage to Latin singer Marc Anthony and has also had failed relationships with Ben Affleck and rapper Diddy.
