Fergie says having a baby is 'just one thing' she wants to do during her career break.

The Black Eyed Peas have decided to take a hiatus starting from next month. There were reports this was due to Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel wanting to start a family together.

However, Fergie doesn't want to feel under pressure to conceive.

"Yes, [a] baby is in the plans at some point but there's no specific plans or date or anything like that," Fergie told E! News yesterday. "That's just one of the things I want to do."

The 36-year-old singer is looking forward to spending quality time with Josh.

Fergie revealed she has plenty of outings lined up to keep herself busy.

"You know, I'm ready to have a day where I can just see where the day takes me,' she explained. 'Take this journey. Go to an art gallery. Go to a museum. Go to fashion shows. Spend time with my husband."

Fergie has been with hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas since 2003, and married Josh in 2009.

It not yet known when the group will return to the recording studio.

Fergie admits she has no idea when she will be reunited with her bandmates either.

"We're not going to set a date on it," she added. "It's organic."

Fergie recently revealed she was looking forward to spending time with her family and will be celebrating Christmas at her mom's house this year.
