Jackson auctions off personal items
Thousands of Michael Jackson's most treasured possession are to be auctioned off to raise money for the cash-strapped star.

Fans will be given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get their hands on items such as the gates to his Neverland ranch, his luxury tour bus and pieces from his expansive art collection.

And his iconic, white-jewelled glove, unveiled in the 1983 video for his smash hit "Billie Jean", will also go under the hammer, along with other costumes and jewellery.

The five-day auction at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles this April, will auction off over 2,000 items, personally picked by Jackson himself.

The auction, which will run from April 21 to 25, and will be carried out by Julien's Auctions will be the first one organised by the 50-year-old pop star.

Auctioneer Darren Julien said: ""This is something that Michael is doing of his own free will. He is not being forced into it.

"We have been working closely with him for five months and he is in complete control of this.

"We have been amazed at the quantity and quality of the property from Michael Jackson's collection.

"It is an eclectic collection being sold by an eccentric collector. I can honestly say, that there will never be another auction like this one."

The glittery white glove - completely covered in clear Swarovski crystals - is expected to cause a bidding frenzy and could fetch up to £10,000.

Julien said a similar white glove once owned by Jackson fetched £23,650 pounds at an auction in 2006.

The crested gilt and iron gates to Jackson's Neverland ranch has a price tag of between £15,000 and £20,000, and the sparkly black jacket he wore for his 1984 Hollywood Walk Of Fame star dedication ceremony is on sale for £15,000.

But the most expensive item listed in the six-volume auction book is his custom-made 1999 Rolls Royce, with an estimate of £100,000 - £112,000.

The items, which are expected to raise up to £2million, will be on public display for a week before the sale is broadcast live on US TV's Auction Network, and fans can bid in person and online during the auction.
