Kylie Minogue will be the host of this year's Brit Awards, it was announced today.

The pop star will present the show alongside Gavin and Stacey stars James Corden and Mathew Horne.

The Brits, which will take place at Earl's Court on February 18th, will have performances by Kings of Leon, Girls Aloud and Duffy.

U2 and the Pet Shop Boys, who are set to receive the outstanding contribution to music prize, will also appear and perform on the night.

Chairman of The Brits Committee, Ged Doherty, said the show was going to be a "must-see event" and added: "We are heading towards a truly special Brits this year".

The nominations will be announced at Camden's Roundhouse on Tuesday.
